Short Bio: Sevar Dilkhaz Salahaddin is a civil engineering researcher specializing in structural engineering, advanced construction materials, and sustainable infrastructure. She obtained her B.Sc. in Civil Engineering from the University of Duhok and later completed her M.Sc. in Civil Engineering at the Eastern Mediterranean University. She earned her Ph.D. in Structural Engineering (2021 to 2024) with a research project titled “Performance of Basalt Fiber Ultra-High Performance Concrete (UHPC) Incorporating Nano Waste Glass at Elevated Temperature.”Dr. Salahaddin has extensive academic and teaching experience across several engineering departments. She has taught a variety of undergraduate courses, including Strength of Materials, AutoCAD, Information and Communication Technology (ICT), Research Methodology, Computer Applications, and Engineering Drawing. In addition to teaching, she has supervised undergraduate research projects and contributed to the development of engineering design and construction plans. Her research interests focus on ultra-high performance concrete (UHPC), fiber-reinforced concrete, sustainable construction materials, waste material utilization in cementitious composites, and structural performance at elevated temperatures. Her work emphasizes improving the durability, strength, and environmental sustainability of modern construction materials. Dr. Salahaddin

has published several peer-reviewed journal articles and conference papers addressing topics such as recycled glass waste in UHPC, hydration mechanisms and microstructure of advanced cementitious

materials, environmental engineering simulations, and sustainable construction practices. Her publications

are indexed in major academic databases and are available through her academic profiles on Google Scholar and ResearchGate. In addition to her published work, she has several accepted studies addressing flood risk assessment in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, optimization of steel truss structures using genetic algorithms, groundwater resource evaluation, and the residual mechanical performance of UHPC containing waste glass powder at elevated temperatures. Through her research and teaching activities, Dr. Salahaddin aims to advance the field of structural engineering by integrating innovative materials, sustainability principles, and computational techniques to enhance the performance and resilience of modern infrastructure.

About Aci-Kurdistan Chapter

The ACI chapter of Kurdistan is a recently establisehd branch of ACI, which cover the geographic region of the southern kurdistan which so called (Iraqi Kurdistan region). The main goal of the chapter is to merge our knowledge about the concrete with the most recent standards and specifications. Also, the Kurdistan chapter makes a strong tie between the universities across the Kurdistan region.
