Short Bio: Dr. Mand Kamal Askar is an Assistant Professor of Highway and Bridges Engineering at the Technical College of Engineering, Duhok Polytechnic University. He received his M.Sc. in Civil Engineering from Swinburne University of Technology, Australia, and his Ph.D. in Structural Engineering from University of Duhok. He earned his B.Sc. in Civil Engineering from University of Technology.

Dr. Askar has published more than ten peer-reviewed articles in high-impact international journals. His research interests include reinforced concrete behavior, CFRP strengthening systems, and sustainable infrastructure. He also serves as the supervisor of the ACI DPU Student Chapter under the American Concrete Institute.

About Aci-Kurdistan Chapter

The ACI chapter of Kurdistan is a recently establisehd branch of ACI, which cover the geographic region of the southern kurdistan which so called (Iraqi Kurdistan region). The main goal of the chapter is to merge our knowledge about the concrete with the most recent standards and specifications. Also, the Kurdistan chapter makes a strong tie between the universities across the Kurdistan region.
