Short Bio: Dr. Brwa Hamah Saeed Hamah Ali is a structural engineer, academic, and consultant specializing in seismic engineering and structural rehabilitation. He is a Senior Lecturer in the Civil Engineering Department at the University of Sulaimani and currently serves as the Registrar of the College of Engineering. Dr. Brwa earned his PhD in Structural Engineering (Seismic Rehabilitation) from the University of Sulaimani in 2022 and holds an MSc in Structural and Earthquake Engineering with distinction from the University of Sheffield, UK, funded by the Kurdistan Regional Government’s Human Capacity Development Program (HCDP).

Alongside his academic career, Dr. Brwa works as a consultant engineer at the Consulting Engineering Bureau and as a freelance structural design engineer, contributing to a wide range of residential and commercial projects. His expertise focuses on structural integrity, earthquake engineering, and seismic retrofitting. He is also actively involved in professional organizations, serving as a board member of the ACI Kurdistan Chapter and holding memberships in international engineering institutions including the American Concrete Institute (ACI), American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE), and the Institution of Structural Engineers (IStructE).

About Aci-Kurdistan Chapter

The ACI chapter of Kurdistan is a recently establisehd branch of ACI, which cover the geographic region of the southern kurdistan which so called (Iraqi Kurdistan region). The main goal of the chapter is to merge our knowledge about the concrete with the most recent standards and specifications. Also, the Kurdistan chapter makes a strong tie between the universities across the Kurdistan region.
