Short Bio: Barham Haidar Ali is a distinguished academic and professional civil engineer currently serving as the Head of the Civil Engineering Department at Tishk International University. Holding a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from Gaziantep University, he has spearheaded major institutional advancements, including securing prestigious five-year international accreditations from ASIIN and ZeVa and co-founding the ACI Kurdistan Chapter. His expertise encompasses structural resilience—specifically progressive collapse and retrofitting—as well as the development of green and eco-friendly concrete materials. With a proven track record of securing significant research grants from organizations such as DAAD and the IOM, he provides expert engineering consultation for high-value infrastructure projects and serves as a member of the Engineering & Academic Board at the Kurdistan Engineers. About Aci-Kurdistan Chapter

The ACI chapter of Kurdistan is a recently establisehd branch of ACI, which cover the geographic region of the southern kurdistan which so called (Iraqi Kurdistan region). The main goal of the chapter is to merge our knowledge about the concrete with the most recent standards and specifications. Also, the Kurdistan chapter makes a strong tie between the universities across the Kurdistan region.
